A baby Golden Retriever was born 10 weeks ago with a tail on his forehead. The baby was born in Cape Girardeau Missouri and is fittingly nicknamed “Puppercorn”. Social and local media are having a field day reporting on this incredibly cute puppy.
Sadly the baby was found by Rochelle Steffen from Mac’s Mission after being abandoned. Rochelle is fostering the “puppercorn” named Narwhal.
What everyone is asking is does the tail wag and is it in anyway connected?
The answer is no the tail is not connected and serves no real purpose other then making him a REALLY AWESOME PUPPY with tons of fans across the globe.
The puppy was checked by CAPE small animal clinic and received a clean bill of health.
The people at the mission are “Still in Awe of this real life Puppercorn!!”. The retrievers extra tail has received a ton of national attention and has put Mac’s Mission on the map. The people at the mission call Narwhal a “total sweetie” in a recent Facebook Post.
The tail was most likely ” a congenial anomaly or defect that at this time does not appear to be causing any complications” stated the clinic’s veterinarian Brian Heuring .
The plan for now is to leave the tail and keep monitoring it to make sure it does not cause any issues in the future.
So hopefully Narwhal can live a long, happy life and bring joy to all those people who get to see or meet him.
And who knows…maybe one day Narwhal can meet that special someone and have more baby “Puppercorns”???
