Did you know that Google reported an 809% increase on ‘dog exercise’ searches for the past few months? This shows that the world may be on lock down but our responsibility as dog parents never stop! Indeed, one thing that we should all still prioritize is our dog’s fitness. We may be staying home all day but there are plenty of things that we can still do to keep our dogs fit.
To ever help you in keeping your dogs healthy, here are tips from us to you! We’re all in this together!
1. Set up an indoor or outdoor obstacle for your dogs. You can use its toys and regular items! You just need to spice up the route so that your dog gets thrilled without knowing that it’s actually exercising! Use their favorite treats, too! You can even make jumps with the use of broomsticks!
2. Make an interactive tunnel in your very living room. Blankets can be used for the easy creation of fun tunnels that your dogs can explore!
3. If you have hula hoops at home, you can make mini tire jumps! You just need to attach it between two chairs!
4. Hide treats around the house! This activity will get your dog real busy and active! It will also provide them a fun mental exercise!
5. Play tug of war with your dog! You have to be careful though as this will bring out their predator instinct. Only consider doing this if you’re full aware of your dog’s instincts and power.
6. The good old game of fetching will do the trick! It will also effectively increase your endorphins! It’s a forever great bonding experience that you can still luckily enjoy with your dog amidst lockdown! You can play fetch at least twice a day to keep your dog in good shape!
