This story is so touching that its plot seems like a ready-made Christmas movie with missing dogs as stars. Christmas miracles are everywhere this holiday season and this is but another proof! This story involves not one but two missing dogs who somehow managed to stick together through thick and thin amid being lost miles away from home.
On a fated cold winter night in Milwaukee, bus driver Jamie Grabowski saw two dogs running about the streets. She just finished her evening shift the midnight of Dec. 18 when she spotted the dogs and her instinct was to instantly get the two dogs’ attention and ask them to get inside her bus. Ms. Grabowski considers herself as a dog whisperer of some sort and we find it hard to disagree as she naturally saw through the circumstance without even knowing that the dogs were actually together and are missing.
As seen in the surveillance video provided by the bus company that she drove, she simply said, “Hey you two. You need to go home right now. C’mon, c’mon inside!” The dogs quickly followed her with tails wagging!
Ms. Grabowski’s main concern was for the dogs to not freeze. She feared that that midnight’s 20 degrees temperature is far too dangerous for the dogs. She also couldn’t leave the dogs in good conscience for fear that the two might get hit by a car or encounter an accident.
Upon contact, she immediately reached out to the local police department and animal control commission of the area. It turns out that the two dogs, a pit bull and a Doberman pinscher, were indeed missing.
Both dogs were described by officers to be extremely sweet, playful, and in good health.
Luckily, both are now reunited with their family. It turns out that both got out of their family’s backyard and roamed about for 2 and 1/2 miles away from home.
It’s a Christmas miracle indeed and it was such a stroke of luck that Ms. Grabowski chanced upon the two that cold winter midnight and the two didn’t separate through it all! Truly, blessings are ever greater during the holidays!
