Now we have actual proof that dogs know that we love them!
A recent study done by Canine Cottage revealed that dogs can understand and physically react to love from humans. The research revealed that dogs’ heart rates increase by 46.2% whenever they hear their owners say, “I love you!”
The touching study was done by tracking dogs’ pulses when doing different activities. Upon monitoring, data showed that dogs get excited whenever they hear “I love you” from their owners.
The study also showed that dogs feel calmer and more relaxed whenever their owners cuddle and snuggle with them. So much so that their heart rates decrease by 22.7% whenever they are snuggled and cuddled.
You will be very happy to know that humans were very much involved in the study as well. Monitoring was two-way and data showed that human gets happy whenever they see their dogs. So happy that their heart rates increase by 10.4% whenever their dogs are around. Now we have yet another proof that dogs are good for the heart. This can also easily explain how dogs naturally became “man’s best friend.”
The study also gave supporting evidence as to how dogs show their love for humans. Dogs show their love to humans by licking their faces, jumping on them, and wagging their tails.
Canine Cottage also explained why dogs chew their owners’ objects and things. According to their research, dogs do this to calm themselves. Dogs get calmer, more relaxed, and feel overwhelmingly well whenever they chew on objects and things that smell of their owners or have their owners’ scent. So the next time that your dog misbehaves, please know that it is not a random naughty act. It is actually their way of calming themselves as they love their owners’ scents.
Have you said “I love you” to your dog today? What are you waiting for? If anything, please consider this advice: say “I love you” to your dog all the time! Because hey, we now have actual proof that they understand it and it makes them happier! To more love!
