I’m sure that you’ve heard of hundreds of inter-species friendship stories. But this one is sure to fascinate you as it involves a black bear and a dog.
Jesse Jordan is from Canada and he shared the incredible story of his dog accepting bribes from a black bear. The incident reportedly happened three times.
He shared the story in Twitter and people have been having extremely polar reactions. His tweet has gone viral and has been shared by 83,000 users with more than 325,000 likes.
The story involves Brick, a Hound/Mastiff mutt with a Beagle mix. His full name is Brickleberry but he answers to Brick. His mixed features have a lot of people often mistake him for a yellow Labrador.
According to Bricks owner, a bear has cunningly learned his way through the trash despite Brick’s presence.
For the third time now, his owner woke up to the scene of Brick feasting on deer bones while all the trash in his garbage can are all over the place in his front yard.
Given that there’s no way for him to give deer bones to Brick and that black bears are known nuisance when it comes to going through people’s trash, only one conclusion is possible— that the bear gives Brick the deer bones so it can have full access to the garbage bin.
It would’ve been of no consequence if it happened only once, but the recorded incident that his owner shared online was the third time that such instance took place —- trash all over the front yard while Brick munches on deer bones. The bear is indeed sly and Brick apparently knows of the concept of bribe.
Some users are saying that it’s neglectful of Brick’s owners to have him left alone at night and exposed to bears while some are exclaiming how impressed they are with the bear’s tactics.
Brick’s owner is quick to clarify that the fascinating story happened in Ontario, Canada where black bears are seen as nuisance and not as threat. He assured everyone that Brick is in no danger of being eaten by a black bear as nuisance black bears prefer going through garbage.
Nuisance black bears are bears that have lost their fear of humans and have the tenacity to go through garbage and dumpsters to search for food.
