Three young teenagers were biking at a road in Acadia Parish, Louisiana when they spotted a dog lying in the grass. The dog looked very weak because he was not moving. The teenagers soon realized that the dog was injured and needed help.
The three teenagers decided to help the dog. However, they did not know what to do. Wade Harrell, one of the boys, called Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue to help the poor dog.
Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue is a fairly new shelter that took over Rayne Animal Shelter and Crowley Animal Shelter in 2020. Haseya’s is a no-kill shelter that aims to help the sick, the starving, the weak, and the unwanted dogs.
Wade and his two friends, Tyler Cancienne and Brayden Mauroner, patiently waited and never left the dog’s side until rescuers arrived. They used their bikes as a barricade so that cars would slow down when they passed near the dog’s area.
It didn’t take the rescuers so much time to arrive at the area where the three boys found the dog. The rescuers used a blanket in carrying the dog away from the road. It was assumed that the dog had a hip injury, that is why they gave the dog some food and pain medication.
Later on, it was found out that the dog was missing for a week already. His name was Taz. The family was happy to know that their dog was safe, although he needs a further medical check.
The three teenagers could’ve chosen to bike on the other side of the road. These three teenagers were regarded as heroes by the locals for doing what was right. Wade even shared that he and his friends were happy to save the dog and gave the dog a second lease in life.
