Seb, an 11-year-old collie, was close to death from not being able to eat after his senior owner died. If it weren’t for the good work of the rescuers that found him, and the vet and nurses that helped him recover, he would be dead by now. This story is one for the books.
Seb was found after rescuers received a call from a concerned citizen. He, together with two other dogs, was found abandoned after their elderly owner passed on in February. They have been left unattended for months. They were all hours away from death before they were rescued.
Seb had a particularly unique situation because he already seemed like a bag of bones when he was brought to the vet. The nurse that tended to him had to shave off his matter fur for anesthesia and she shared how they were all shocked to see how his bones and spine already protruded. Seb only weighed 12.2 kilograms and was emaciated.
Everyone at the clinic was worried that Seb wouldn’t make it through. But all their worries disappeared when Nicole, one of his nurses, took Seb under her wing. Nicole was able to make Seb’s weight climb to 19.9 kilograms in just two months.
Nicole grew up with rough-haired collies so it was love at first sight for her when she met Seb. She immediately filed for adoption when Seb was declared okay for rehoming.
Seb is now ever happy and healthy under Nicole’s loving care. He goes to work with Nicole every day and all his needs are now always taken care of. Nicole even shared that Seb is now never too far away from her at any given time. With love, truly, nothing is impossible.
