After Corky went missing for seven years, he finally reunited with his family. The rescuers took him to the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT) together with another stray dog. As soon as they traced Corky’s family through his microchip, they immediately called them. The Montez family didn’t expect to receive the good news.
Since Corky had been gone for seven years, they weren’t sure if they would be able to see their beloved dog again. So after HSNT provided them with the necessary information, they rushed to the shelter to pick Corky up. When they arrived, they discovered that Corky already had a canine companion named Captain who only had one eye. He was also a homeless dog who kept Corky company when they were living as stray dogs.
Captain had been a caring friend to Corky so he could get through life no matter the challenges. His kindness moved the Montez family, that they decided to adopt Captain so he could stay with Corky for good. The family knew that Captain had been a big help to their beloved dog and if it wasn’t for him, they couldn’t imagine how Corky would survive.
When Captain was brought home to the Montez residence, he never stopped following Corky wherever he went. It was clear that they had become the best of friends after years of being together. Since Captain was visually impaired, Corky also served as his guide by letting him eat first and looking after him.
Their amazing friendship provided them strength, even though life was tough. Everyone who knew about their story was thankful to the Montez family for their kind hearts. Captain had not only found a furry friend but a loving family who would continue to care for him. He was no longer worried about his life because the family gave him a permanent home.
