True friends are people that you can truly rely on when the going gets tough. They will be making sure that you are okay. They will never leave you until they know that you are fine. And this is not just with humans – animals can be this way as well.
This heartwarming story is about a dog and a cat that has found their best friend in each other. Despite not being together for that long yet, they have formed a bond that is like no other. And although some people think that dogs and cats can’t get along, they have proven otherwise.
When Moose met Marvin
Mary Barnes lived just outside the city of Detroit with her dog Moose. The two lived alone and there were times that she was afraid that her dog was getting lonely every time she had to leave him alone for work. She has always thought about getting another dog to keep Moose company. But she never actually got the opportunity to look for one.
But then one time, while she out, she happened to pass by an animal shelter. She decided to go in and have a look. And although there were some dogs inside, it was one rescue cat that caught her eye. There was a certain something about the stray cat that made Mary immediately fall for her. She wasn’t even sure that the cat, which she named Marvin, would get along with her beloved dog.
But still, Mary filed for an application and adopted Marvin. When she got home, all her worries faded away. The two hit it off right away and soon became the best of friends.
Thunderstorms
Because of her work, Mary had to move to Detroit and live in an apartment high above the ground. She took her two pets with her. Unfortunately though, since they were way up high, every time there were thunderstorms, the noise would startle Moose. The hapless dog was very scared of loud noises, so every time a thunderstorm happened, he would run to the bathroom and hide in the tub.
Marvin noticed that his friend was scared, so he would follow him in. He would stay next to the dog’s side, never leaving him alone. If he had to go out, he made sure to come back and check upon him. And as soon as the thunderstorms are over, Moose would calm down, and they would start playing again.
