It’s not too long ago that we shared the story of a video that went viral when a man from Texas saved a leashed dog that was almost dragged to death by an elevator when its owner failed to guide it just in time to enter a moving elevator.
This incident is pretty much the same, only this time, the owner was already outside together with the dog and it was the leash alone that got stuck in the elevator. Being stuck, the moving elevator dragged and lifted the dog up. Thankfully, Dr. Mohammad Awad was just getting in, saw everything, and helped just in time.
Dr. Mohammad Awad just got off his shift that day. Before going back to his place, he dropped by his parents’ place to grab a plate of food. The entire thing happened just when he was entering his apartment building. There he saw his neighbor just getting off the elevator. He even noticed how the leash was still in the elevator.
As seen in the video footage that captured the entire incident, Dr. Awad was even holding a plateful of food when he rushed to the dog that was already lifted off the ground.
In his interview, he shared how it was a struggle to break off the leash. While the dog was struggling, he tried to break open the leash. However, it didn’t work. He tried to break it but the material was too strong. Luckily as Dr. Awad was preventing the dog from hitting the wall hard, and on his continuous struggle after stepping back a bit, the leash snapped.
Dr. Awad still can’t believe at how everything happened. He re-watched the video and didn’t even feel like it was him who saved the poor dog. It was you, Dr. Awad, and we are so thankful for such a heroic act! This brings a whole new meaning to doctors saving lives!
Let this second elevator mishap incident be a strong reminder for every dog owners to fully be present and aware every time they are out with their dogs. It’s always best to be at tip top form and presence whenever we walk dogs outside so that incidents like this will no longer take place. To a careful, loving, and watchful new year to us all!
