For fur parents, losing their beloved dog is a devastating experience.
Troy Rogers, a teacher at Clements High School in Alabama, has lost his 11.5-year dog Golden Retriever named Chip. The dog is blind, and it suddenly disappeared one day.
Troy and his wife tried looking for the dog for three weeks, and sadly, there were faced with the bitter truth. Chip had wandered to find a place where he could take his last breath.
The couple grieved for the death of their beloved Chip, whom they treated as their child.
Meanwhile, the students of Troy were thinking of giving their beloved teacher a wonderful surprise. They have high regard for their teacher because they were treated as his children.
Before the students made the big reveal, they made sure first that the couple was already prepared and open to accept a new dog into their lives. They knew that their teacher was still in the process of grieving, and by giving another dog, they felt that their teacher needs a new best friend to help him in moving forward.
The students pooled their allowances together so that they can buy a puppy for their teacher. They were able to collect hundreds of dollars, enough for them to find a dog for Troy.
For the grand surprise, the students also invited Troy’s wife to school. They involved another teacher in greeting the couple as soon as they arrive at school.
As Troy and his wife entered the room, they were surprised to see people care for them. The couple was even got more surprised when the eight-week-old puppy was given to them.
The students named the dog Clementine. The puppy was named after their school’s mascot.
Troy said that the surprise is the best thing that happened to him in his 20-year career at Clement High School. His heart is full of thanksgiving and love from his students.
Start building a new chapter together with Clementine!
