Not all dogs are crazy about bath times. Some love it while some absolutely hate it. Consider yourself lucky if you own a dog that gets happy whenever it’s bath time. Some owners really have it rough that they need to devise ways to trick their dog into agreeing to bath time. So if you have a happy water baby, congratulations!
One of the main struggles during bath time is when it’s time to wash your fur baby’s face. It is tricky because it involves sensitive parts of your pet’s face that you don’t want to accidentally put water or soap on. We asked pro groomers on how to properly do it so read on to find out how!
1. To do it properly, pro groomers recommend that you should do it as the last part of the bath.
2. To do it in a way that does not hurt any of your pet’s sensitive parts, you should use two washcloths.
3. Do this by dipping one washcloth in soapy water.
4. You may then use the dipped washcloth to carefully and gently wash your dog’s face.
5. After using the soapy washcloth, reach for the second clean washcloth.
6. Dip the second clean washcloth on clear water.
7. Use the second clean washcloth to rinse your dog’s face.
8. As you rinse, ensure that all soap is removed from your dog’s sensitive areas.
9. Avoid the eye area at all times because even mild puppy shampoo can be hurtful to dogs’ eyes.
10. Make sure that you have an eyewash. This will be handy in case you’d accidentally put shampoo on your dog’s eyes.
11. For goobers, you can remove them by wetting them first. Once wet, you may use a toothbrush to softly remove.
