Smiley, A Rescue Dog, Manages To Survive Being Shot And Being Hit By A Moving Vehicle

Smiley, A Rescue Dog, Manages To Survive Being Shot And Being Hit By A Moving Vehicle

Smiley, a rescue dog, has had a rocky background. Despite her negative experiences, she always lives up to her name as nothing can keep her from putting a smile on her attractive face at all times.

Smiley was rescued from the streets of North Carolina and brought to an animal shelter. The rescuers noticed she was underweight and emaciated. Her leg was also clearly swollen.

A veterinarian checked her thoroughly and discovered that the pup had had a gunshot wound. Several neighbors had also said that the unlucky pup was involved in a car accident a few weeks ago.

As a result, the dog’s swelling limb was most likely caused by a car accident or the gunshot. Regardless, Smiley definitely required medical attention.

To ensure proper care and attention for the dog, the shelter rescheduled all neuter and spay appointments for the next day. The vets took care of the dog and they were forced to amputate the dog’s wounded limb.

Smiley was still smiling after undergoing such a surgery. She even wagged her tail to demonstrate her joy. This was how she acquired her apt moniker as she is constantly affectionate toward everyone she meets.

Due to her cheerful demeanor, the shelter’s employees decided to photograph her and post the photos on social media. There, the dog became famous online.

Coincidentally, someone revealed that the dog’s previous owner had also given her the name Smiley! The staff, however, do not really know much about Smiley’s previous owner. But it was pretty obvious that the previous owner was most likely absent from the dog’s life for an extended period.

At that moment, the shelter’s staff was unsure when they would be able to place Smiley for adoption. They want to check and ensure that the dog has healed entirely. After all, Smiley most surely deserves a happy home.
