Dog lovers will really do just about anything to make their cute canines happy. Some will buy the most expensive food and treats while others may take their pups on lavish vacations. There are a few that will build the most comfortable doghouse.
An 82-year-old man from Texas definitely loved dogs to the point that he built them something that will rival the trains of the New York City subway.
Here’s grandpop’s adorable and inspiring story.
A commitment in his retirement
Eugene Bostick, a resident of Fort Worth, made headlines after photos of him enjoying his golden years surfaced online. The pictures showed him driving a tractor with a train attached to it. But riding the train were the dogs who seemed more than pleased.
Apparently, Eugene had spent the majority of his senior years taking care of stray dogs. Fortunately, he had a big property where he could keep the pups.
But as the dogs he was taking care of grew in number, he realized that taking them out for a walk or an adventure had become challenging. That was why he decided to build a makeshift dog train.
Eugene started the construction of the train by boring large holes into sturdy plastic barrels. The holes were large enough to accommodate the dogs. Then he linked all the barrels, installed the wheels, and attached the line to his tractor.
The dogs are excited about their ride
Soon enough, Eugene’s creation had become the talk of the town. Everyone was amused by the sight of the train passing by. But the ones who really loved the idea were Eugene’s pups themselves.
The 82-year-old said that whenever the dogs heard him linking the train to the tractor, they would get excited. A lot of the dogs were coming and jumping on their own. It seemed that they were not just eager about the trip but were actually more than ready to go.
