Mark Hamill and Adam Driver, two actors who appeared in the famous movie Star Wars, used their massive online following to look for a lost pooch. When they were in Belgium to shoot for a scene, the two actors received information that a dog went missing.
The dog happened to be owned by director Leo Carax. When the actors and the crew received the bad news, they immediately looked for the pooch around the vicinity. Their search, however, did not yield good results as they could not find the pooch.
The dog named Javelot has already been with Carax for nine years now. The dog is the third generation dog to be under the watch of Carax. Carax previously raised Javelot’s dad and grandfather. This fact made it even more unbearable for the director.
Driver then thought of a brilliant idea in making the search and rescue reach more audience, and that is to use social media. Hamill has over 3 million followers on Twitter, and Driver thought it would be an excellent way to look for leads about the missing dog.
Driver then recorded himself in front of a phone camera and explained the situation. While filming his explanation, Driver stood in beside a poster that has the necessary details of Javelot. During the shoot, Driver mentioned how the dog went missing and asked the help of anyone who might have information about the dog’s whereabouts.
Driver then asked Hamill to share the video on his Twitter account. Hamill agreed. After a few moments, the post received traction from Hamill’s followers. Hamill’s followers also shared the videos in the hopes that it will get more reach.
Soon after, someone tweeted that he saw the pooch at a train station. The entire crew immediately went to the said train station, and there they saw the pooch. It was a sweet reunion for Carax and Javelot. Carax was thankful that he found his dog. While still unclear how the pooch arrived there, Carax said what is essential for him is that the pooch is already safe.
