Most street dogs are quite wary of humans and avoid them at all costs. Occasionally, however, some of these dogs find meeting new people exciting. It does really not happen that often but there are a few of them out there.
One of these is a puppy that was abandoned on South Africa’s streets. The dog had a bit of bread in its mouth when he was discovered by rescuers. It even tried to share his food with the rescuers. The humans then took the animal and brought him to a vet to get checked.
The veterinarian provided medical care and food for the puppy. It was then placed in foster care for approximately one week. The dog was later adopted by a woman named Freya, who named him Gunnar.
Freya admired Gunnar for his unwavering will to survive. Despite his small size, he possessed a fierce fighting mentality. The woman anticipated that this puppy would mature into a wonderful companion and friend.
Three years later, Gunnar eventually matured into a handsome and robust dog. Currently, he is highly active and loves going after balls or collecting stones wherever he goes. This dog really enjoys discovering strange stones and bringing them to Freya.
During the pandemic, Freya began fostering other dogs. She believed it would be beneficial for Gunnar to make new friends.
Gunnar grew accustomed to having other dogs in the house over time. He even became a mentor to every canine that entered their residence.
Gunnar is as joyful and active as he was as a puppy. He is the same dog, but he now enjoys a safer and more stable lifestyle. His owners ensure that he always has the best life.
Sidewalks Rescue is the organization that rescued Gunnar. They are one of many organizations that remove dogs from the streets and find them loving homes.
