Now this is some juicy data that is set to trigger questioning during dinner. Does your partner much prefer kissing your dog over you? If yes, can they be blamed? Is it a bad thing? Is it time to start evaluating your relationship? Dogs are too adorable, that this information is somehow not surprising!
In a recent survey done by Riley’s Organics, participants were asked when it comes to their relationship with their dogs.
The survey results revealed that 52% of dog owners admit to kissing their dogs more than they kiss their partner. To be clear, it wasn’t the preference that was asked but the frequency. So it’s safe to say that even though we may kiss our dogs much more frequently, this couldn’t mean that we love our partners any less. Just that, we tend to kiss our partners at a lesser rate.
The research also showed that apart from kissing, 52% of the participants also prefer sleeping with their dogs over sleeping with their partner. Now this could usher a world of meaning and analysis but one thing that’s clear is the fact that our ability and privilege to have a connection and relationship with dogs, is truly special. It’s so special that it can even rival human to human connections.
To truly check the veracity of the saying the dogs are man’s best friend, the survey also asked participants if they indeed count their dog as one of their best friends. It shouldn’t come as a shock but 94% answered in the positive that they indeed consider their dog as one of their best friends.
Indeed, there is a special kind of bond and love between a dog and his human. The fact that humans prefer to kiss their dogs more than their partners is but a manifestation of that one of a kind pure love.
