We all know that most dogs love chasing squirrels. Whenever they’re indoors and see one in the backyard, they would stare at it for ages or even start barking. Dogs have been known to pull on their leash and drag humans during walks when they see a squirrel.
However, one particular dog takes squirrel chasing to the next level. A guy named Matt Waldman is a proud dad to a dog named Lexi. Lexi has a unique talent that Matt finds amusing and has shared quite a few videos on the internet.
It turns out that, like many other dogs, Lexi loves chasing squirrels. She feels that she has to protect her backyard from invading squirrels and becomes uneasy when she sees a trespassing squirrel. Whenever Lexi sees a squirrel who is unlucky enough to trespass in her home’s backyard, she chases after it.
Lexi is unique when she chases squirrels because she can do an exceptionally high jump. Lexi doesn’t stop at the fence chasing squirrels. She would actually jump up on the fence to ensure that the tiny animal she was chasing was off her property.
Matt believes that Lexi isn’t out to get the squirrel she sees. She knows her limit and would stop when the squirrel gets out of the backyard. However, it’s not only the squirrels that trigger Lexi’s love for jumping up the fence. Whenever the neighbor has guests and is out in their yard, Lexi gets curious and jumps up on the fence to take a look.
Matt found Lexi as a stray. He took her in and gave her the necessary care to become healthy again. At first, Lexi was timid and avoided Matt. However, when she started feeling better, she realized that Matt wouldn’t hurt her. Lexi warmed up to her new family, and she started showing her sweet personality.
Although she’s better known for being a highly energetic dog who loves jumping and chasing squirrels, she is also an adorable dog who loves cuddling with her family. Lexi also inspired Matt to try to help out with animal welfare. Matt’s currently working on building a no-kill animal shelter to save more dogs like Lexi. Here’s a video featuring Lexi’s amazing skill and how she inspired her dad to save dogs like her.
