This bichon frise mix from Southern California has demonstrated that love can go a long way. He used to be a vicious puppy that would bite everybody he saw and isolate himself from the rest of the world. He changed into the cuddliest pooch his new fur mom had ever met with a little love and a lot of patience from her.
Logan, the five-year-old bichon frise, was rescued from a local California shelter last year. His previous owners abandoned him there, along with a few other pets.
Logan had such thick and filthy matting when the shelter employees first met him that they mistook him for a female.
The dog didn’t last long in the shelter, as he bit the employees frequently and showed anger toward the other dogs. As a result, the shelter opted to simply put him down. Thankfully, the charity organization Bichon Rescue Brigade (BRB) intervened before they could do so.
They rescued the puppy from the shelter and took him to an animal hospital where he was treated for many chronic skin diseases. Two months after his recovery, the group placed him with a foster home so he could learn how to actually mingle with other dogs and humans.
Unfortunately, this did not work out since he remained overly violent and bit his foster family. BRB chose to enroll him in a training center at that point. There, he worked one-on-one with animal behaviorist Jesse R. Booker.
Jesse took his time allowing the dog to relax and trust her. They’d often go for long walks together, which seemed to make Logan settle down. Jesse would also reassure him that he was in good hands. The pooch began to open up and trust the people around him after four months.
Erica Ryan is the lovely pooch’s new fur mom, and it didn’t take long for him to find her. She stated that Logan had been nothing but nice and cuddly since she brought him home.
