This dog somehow ended up living in the desert, where she stayed for a length of time. Food was scarce, but she somehow got by, thanks to the help of the people living there. They couldn’t monitor her movements every day, but at least they were there when it mattered.
There was no problem with her attitude as she was not hostile. The problem was that people gave her the creeps, so she tended to avoid them. And in a place like this, where the population was far from many, it wasn’t hard to do.
Still, just because there were so few people in the area, that didn’t mean none of them knew how to get help. At least some of them knew of the Hope For Paws organization, and a phone call was made. This dog’s life was about to undergo a major shake-up, and she didn’t even know it.
The place was a desert, but the team of rescuers got there as soon as they could. They first went to the spot where she was reportedly last seen, but of course, she was no longer there. And so, they continued to search for their target.
The rescuers’ search led them to a repair shop, and they finally had their first glimpse of the Labrador. She was lounging inside the shop and was regarding them with an ambivalent look. It wasn’t the best way to kick things off, but at least they had found her.
They were in the middle of pursuing the dog when an alarm went off. The sound was coming from one of the parked vehicles. The rescuers called the owner to let them know that there was nothing to worry about.
The dog, on the other hand, took this opportunity to sneak away from her rescuers. Now that she was out in the open, chasing her would not be as effective as it would be on the street. They decided to use one of their cage traps instead, with food inside for bait.
The rescuers drove several meters away to make it look like they had gone. That persuaded the dog to enter the cage. The door closed in on her before she could colt.
With the dog finally secured, it was time to leave the desert that was her home. From now on, her life will consist of play-time, baths, and good food. They decided to call her Kira.
