Toby, a Pitbull, spent all his life chained up in a yard. His previous owners used him to guard their property but he was nothing more than a dog to them. They never let him inside the house and they didn’t care if he had something to eat or drink.
Despite all his sufferings, Toby remained faithful to his owners. He hoped that one day, they’d see him as a valuable member of their family, but he was wrong. Because eventually, they moved out and left him behind.
It was bad enough that Toby was left behind, but what made it worse was that his owners didn’t even untie him. He was tethered to the same spot, completely unable to move. He failed to scavenge for food, and who knew how long he had to endure his hunger.
Fortunately, rescuers of the nonprofit organization Love Furry Friends learned about Toby. They quickly came to see him and he was overjoyed to meet them. He knew they were there to change his life.
The dog had totally nothing to eat or drink for probably a few weeks, but he never demonstrated any sign of food aggression. He looked plump but he was half his healthy weight. He wasn’t in the best shape, and yet, he never lost the huge smile on his face.
After getting his very first bath, Toby went ahead to see the vet. He had his shots up to date, got his microchip, and then was neutered. He didn’t need to stay at the clinic though so he left and joined his rescuers at the shelter.
Within three weeks, Toby added weight, learned to walk well on a leash, and discovered how great it felt to be surrounded by humans who care. For the first time in his entire life, he felt loved.
Toby, despite spending no quality time with his previous owners, turned out to be a gentle and affectionate dog. He is the perfect furry companion for anyone and he wishes to find his perfect match soon enough.
