Since dogs have always lived alongside humans for a long, long time, they have observed our behavior and even picked up some of our habits. As such, they have evolved into animals that can be trained to provide support and assistance. Now, we have service animals for the elderly and the disabled.
One viral clip from India will show you how a trained dog can assist those who cannot properly help themselves. This story may even make you tear up a bit.
Just a disclaimer, though. The intention of the video isn’t very clear. Some have claimed that the event is filmed for demonstration purposes. Nevertheless, this won’t take away the fact that dogs are sincere and helpful animals.
Helping the blind walk safely
In a clip shared right on Twitter by the Police Commissioner of Pune City, you could see a dog and a woman walking down a path lined with trees. They walked over a long branch lying on the dusty floor.
Then, they passed by a blind man with a guide cane. The woman made a gesture to her pooch. Upon seeing his human’s hand gesture, the dog stopped and walked ahead of the blind man. He then removed the large, heavy stick from the path.
While the stick was pretty weighted, the dog managed to effortlessly lift it using his mouth.
The netizens were fascinated
Currently, the earnest dog’s video has more than 1.3 million views, 27.7K likes, 5.1K retweets, and 663 quote tweets. Netizens shared their positive and heartwarming sentiments.
One commented that this was how the world should work – by removing blocks for others. A second Twitter user said that dogs were the real caretakers and best friends of humans; they were creatures blessed with real loyalty. Lastly, a third netizen said that the video had a very sweet story and lesson everyone could learn.
