Dogs going missing happens more frequently than you might have previously thought. It’s a scenario that most dog owners dread and many dog owners who’ve dealt with this situation have done everything to get their beloved pets back. Most would even offer cash rewards to anyone who could find and return their beloved pet dogs.
A Beagle mix named Bonnie had her parents worried sick one Sunday morning when she suddenly disappeared. Bonnie’s humans, Peter and Paula Closier, realized that they couldn’t find Bonnie anywhere in their home. They started panicking and began searching their entire neighborhood.
Peter and Paula even called their local animal shelters, the police, and the vet to get help in the search for Bonnie. However, what they didn’t know was a man named John Wilmer spotted Bonnie not far from the Closier residence. John was already running late on his way to a dog show and was driving his two dogs who he entered in the competition.
John didn’t want to leave Bonnie behind and decided to take her with him to the dog show and worry about returning her to her family later. He even posted a photo of Bonnie on social media, which was seen by Paula, who was able to get into contact with John.
John and Paula agreed to get in touch after the dog show. However, Paula didn’t know that John entered Bonnie in the dog show competition in the Best Rescue Dog category. Surprisingly, Bonnie won third place.
Bonnie had a big day out with John and appeared to have a blast at the dog show. She was all smiles when she was returned to her family. Paula was also pleasantly surprised when she saw Bonnie wearing a third-place rosette from the dog show. She stated that she only hoped for Bonnie to come back and coming back with a rosette was way better.
Thankfully, Bonnie was found by a guy with a good heart. John took care of Bonnie like she was one of his pets and even got her to participate in a competition, which Bonnie absolutely loved. Here’s a video telling Bonnie’s full story on how she went missing and came back home with a third-place ribbon from a dog show.
