What would you feel if you saw a dog walking down the streets, looking for someone to care for her? A dog wanders across the roads in Franklin, Indiana, hoping someone would look after her.
A German Shepherd named Roadie is seated and waiting under the tree, feeling hesitant about the future. On her collar is a note inside the bottle by his owners. Thanks to the person who has a compassionate heart that Roadie encountered and decided to help her.
Michael Delp, the director of Johnson County Animal Control, contacted and immediately went where Roadie was currently located to pick her up.
As this global pandemic affected the whole world, Roadie’s former owner stated that COVID-19 deeply affected their lives. Her father lost his job and soon their home too. They loved and cared for Roadie, but they had to let go of Roadie due to unforeseen circumstances.
Luckily, Roadie was in good shape and needed someone to care for her. They investigated Roadie’s situation until they proved that the owner faced difficulties.
Roadie was on the news when the chief of White River Township Fire Department and reserve sheriff deputy, Jeremy Pell, saw her. He felt she was the perfect match to be a trainee for the search and rescue dog opening.
After all the tests she passed and life experiences she had gone through, Roadie deserves a new life thanks to Pell’s dedication to going to the shelter for her and being part of the family.
As she started her new life, her new family gave her a new name – Rosie Grace. She goes to work and sleeps on the bed beside her new dad’s desk.
Rosie Grace is still working on her social skills and obedience training, and luckily, for the new chapter of her life and her new family who loves and cares for her. They hope that Rosie Grace will one day work in the community with her dad.
