Scott Poore, the founder of Mission Driven, is dedicated to animal rescue work. He helps long-term shelter rescue dogs find homes. He had a rescue dog named Leo who helped him with his mission.
It all started when Scott became a volunteer. He noticed that many rescue dogs were overlooked because they were old or had behavior issues. With patience and perseverance, he gained the trust of the first dog he attempted to rehome. Since then, Scott made it his life mission to rehome long-term residents of the shelter, and Mission Driven was born.
This time, his mission was to find a home for a Pitbull named Queen. She was found starving, living behind a dumpster. Rescue workers had long since brought her back to perfect health, but she was still being disregarded. Queen had stayed for more than 400 days in Great Plains SCPA Adoption Center.
Scott thought of an unconventional way of helping her by moving into the shelter with her. He intended to bring her exposure to attract potential adopters. He promised that he would not leave until Queen had found a home.
Scott would post daily updates on his social media account. He would dress up Queen and show everyone how sweet and gentle she was. Once they sneaked out of the shelter to get ice cream, and Queen enjoyed the outing so much.
There were days when Queen did not get any visitors nor inquiries, but Scott continued his daily posts. Eventually, his posts reached a lot of people, and people came by the shelter making their intentions known that they were interested in adopting her.
After staying with Queen for a little over a week, Scott succeeded in finding her a forever home. Everyone at the shelter celebrated her adoption day. No one was happier than Queen that day. She finally found a family who would cherish her.
