Abandoned Pit Bull Grabs Rescuers Hand With Paws To Ask For Help

Abandoned Pit Bull Grabs Rescuers Hand With Paws To Ask For Help

Countless dogs in the world suffer from abuse and neglect at the hands of abusive and irresponsible owners. Sadly, many of these dogs don’t even get a chance to get rescued. Thankfully, there are many people who are concerned enough to make these dogs known to animal rescuers and give them a fighting chance to have the life that they deserve.

A nonprofit animal rescue organization called Love Furry Friends received a call from a concerned individual about a Pit Bull who had been living in chains and outdoors his entire life. The Pit Bull was abandoned by his owners who evacuated the village in Ukraine because of the war. They didn’t even bother taking their dog with them or at least set him free so he could fend for himself and find shelter.

When the rescuers arrived at the property, they saw the dog was still in chains, which was barely long enough for him to reach his kennel. There was no more food or water left and he was already in desperate need of help.

The rescuers cautiously approached the dog since they were unsure about how the dog would greet them. To their surprise, they were greeted enthusiastically by the poor pup. Despite being abused and neglected by his owners, he was still happy to see humans. He even grabbed one of the rescuers’ hands with his paw as if he was thankful that they’d come to save him.

The rescuers also observed that the dog didn’t even have a collar. The chain was just wrapped around his neck, which caused it to rub against his skin. Eventually, the rescuers gave him food and clean water, which the dog ate in mere seconds. Next, the rescuers used bolt cutters to cut the chain and led him to their car to be transported to their facility.

Back at the Love Furry Friends facility, the volunteers bathed the dog and treated his wounds. They also got him assessed by a veterinarian who gave him vaccinations and antibiotics. He was also neutered and was given a warm and safe place to stay while he waited to get adopted.

After three weeks, the dog looked happier and healthier. His wounds started to heal and he also has a huge smile on his face. There’s no telling how the sweet dog’s life would have ended up without the help of the brave volunteers of Love Furry Friends rescue. Here’s a video showing the rescue and the transformation of a neglected and abused Pit Bull.
