In 2016, filmmaker Terry Katz adopted Mona, an 11-month-old Terrier mix. Adopting Mona was such a wonderful experience for Terry that he wanted to share his experience with the rest of the world. He hoped his movie would inspire more animal lovers to foster needy canines.
Met by fate
Terry was semi-retired and lived alone since his daughters moved forward with their careers. His spouse also worked long hours, which left Terry feeling lonely. After some time, he realized that getting a puppy was the ideal way to spice up his life.
Terry discovered Mona at the North Shore Animal League, a Port Washington, New York rescue group. When he adopted the dog, he looked happier and felt like he had a new purpose in life.
After a few years, Terry developed the documentary “Loving Mona.” He wished to tell how Mona improved his life while encouraging others to adopt rescue canines.
Inspiration to many
The movie focused on footage from open parks and other locations near Terry’s residence. He connected with the neighbors who adopted dogs during the movie’s filming stages. He wanted to highlight their adventures with shelter dogs to contribute to the film’s concept of canine adoption.
Terry was surprised that so many wonderful rescue canines are accessible each day. He hopes to inspire many people to open their minds to shelter dogs since they are excellent pets.
Once released, this film will be free to animal rescue organizations, wildlife advocates, and animal charities. Terry wanted to help these charitable organizations to raise funds for their rescued animals.
Although the picture is nearly finished, Terry still needs to gain funds to complete the finished product. He started a GoFundMe page for everyone who wishes to support his endeavor.
