Thank God for drones, a sign of life was sighted during a rescue mission and it was a puppy that has survived trapped in the debris for a month. Hurricane Dorian brought forth terror and killed at least 50 people. Thanks be to God, a lot of people made it out alive! Including this adorable puppy that was found amidst all the debris!
The puppy was found trapped inside a piles of metal and an air-conditioning unit while volunteers from Big Ranch Dog Rescue was operating a drone that sensed heat. Following the heat, a volunteer trudged for half a mile to find an adorable form of life — a puppy!
The puppy is a one-year old mixed-breed. To date, it is one of the 150 animals that the rescue group has saved. Rescuers shared how amidst all the debris, most pets stayed in the lot where the house of their owners once stood. This canine and heartwarming instinct made it easier for rescuers to reunite dogs with their owners.
The puppy was silent and motionless when it was found. This is understandable as it survived for a month only by feeding on rainwater through a hole in front of the piles of metal that trapped it. It is indeed a miracle that the puppy survived because most dogs could not have made it in such an environment.
The puppy is now under the care of Big Dog Ranch. His photo has been posted so that his owners may claim him. If after 30 days and his owners have yet to show up, they will then have him available for adoption.
Right now, the puppy is happily recovering and is well taken care of. The rescuers took the incident as a sign that indeed, rebuilding and a new beginning is possible.
The rescue puppy is now named “Miracle.”
