The elusive blind pup
According to a Facebook post of an animal shelter named Heart Animal Rescue, the blind dog was injured and had been running around on three legs. It also appeared scared and was unable to go into the safe traps set by the shelter.
Nevertheless, several locals constantly checked the traps to make sure that the pooch was not held down for too long. It was also reported that the the dog was already seeking out deer carcasses. There was even a time when the dog appeared in a corn field, a place where capturing it would be almost impossible.
Clearly, the citizens were anxious about the dog’s condition. They wanted to capture it, so it would receive the care and attention it needed.
A young rodeo champion steps in
The rescuers then came up with an idea that initially seemed odd but proven to be effective in the end. They got in touch with a 15-year-old local who won national and world championship awards in youth rodeo. Will Hinck, the teen in question, then grabbed his rope to lasso the dog.
Together with his stepfather, Hinck sought out the dog. When an opportunity for capture presented itself, he managed to rope the dog quickly. The pup was then secured into a live trap for transport.
Eventually, it was determined that the dog was a male. He was then named Will after his rescuer.
