Penguin is a nice dog who is very protective of his owner, Happy, who is 13 years old. They share a modest flat with an elderly man in an urban Korean city.
During the day, while the elderly man is at work, they are free to roam outside. The two dogs walk their neighborhood together, returning only after the sun sets. When their owner returns, they are permitted to enter their house.
When they go out for the day, Penguin never leaves his mother’s side.
Both have been long-standing members of their community. Residents and business owners are highly familiar with the dogs. They assist them by giving them food and water, as well as a place to take shelter in when the weather is too harsh.
Numerous business owners invite them into their establishments. When they are offered food, Penguin waits until his mother finishes before eating. He would wander about her as her mother ate, keeping an eye on her to ensure that she was safe.
He is extremely protective of his mother and constantly watches out for her. Penguin growls and barks whenever another dog approaches her and he would ensure that he protects Happy from harm. He does the same to everyone who attempts to pet or carry his mother.
Due to her senior age, Happy has developed extensive arthritis in her legs. She was unable to move as quickly or go as far as Penguin. Thus, she occasionally fell behind. When Penguin observes this, he would immediately return to her side.
Sometimes, the older dog would turn somewhere where her kid could not see her. Penguin would panic and begin desperately searching for his mother.
People have observed their friendship and admired Penguin tremendously for it. They claim that mankind should take inspiration from this son’s affection for his mother.
