Dogs can do a lot of jobs for us, but one of the best ways that they could ever be of service is when they help our souls heal. Pups can definitely bring down stress levels, and they could sometimes help mend a broken heart. One great example of this is when Blue met Raelynn Nast.
Blue and her mom, Emily Beineman love to jog around their neighborhood, and one fateful day, a girl’s voice called out to them as they jogged past a funeral home. That girl was Raelynn. The six-year-old asked Emily if she could pet Blue because she thought he was cute.
Emily obliged, saying that it’s okay as long as Raelynn’s parents won’t mind. Little did Emily know that it was the little girl’s dad’s funeral. Raelynn did more than just pet Blue. She hugged the pooch tight as if she were hugging her dad, Davey. Then the girl invited Emily if she wanted to see her dad.
Lacey Nast, Raelynn’s mother, explained that her daughter loved introducing Davey to people, and Emily was the last person she will introduce him to. The dog mom was hesitant at first, as she wasn’t dressed for a funeral. But she realized that this was important to Raelynn, so she obliged.
When they entered the chapel, everyone was looking at Emily and Blue. Lacey was confused as to who this lady was, and why did it look like her daughter had known her for years. When Raelynn was asked why she invited Emily and Blue inside the Chapel, the answer is simple. Because they made the little girl feel a lot better.
Blue, Emily, and Raelynn met each other again after the funeral, and they plan to be friends for life. After the spiritual experience they just went through, it’s just right that they become friends. We hope that Blue will continue to give Raelynn the love and affection that he will be missing from her dad.
