Leo is an adorable and loving Pit Bull who lives with his mom Tina Rummel in an apartment complex. Their home is located on a dog-friendly property where the energetic and playful pooch could run and play all day.
Leo has a lot of dog friends in their complex, and they spend a lot of time having fun. Being an amiable canine, he also has a lot of human pals. His favorite is Katie Newhouser, a UPS delivery person who serves their area. She has worked 15 years in her job and absolutely adores the dogs she meets along the way.
She even owns two rescue dogs herself.
A special friendship
Katie and Leo have developed a special bond ever since the two met. The delivery driver always makes sure to spend a couple of minutes with the pit bull so that they can play. Amazingly, Leo seemed to know his friend’s schedule. He would wait by the pathway that Katie would use to bring in the packages.
They got so close that the UPS driver even became friends with Tina. Their shared love for the dog gave them a foundation to build a friendship.
So when Katie learned that Tina had died, she was heartbroken. She also got worried about Leo. Tina’s only other family is her son Canon. But he was away on active sea duty.
Foster
Katie talked to Canon, and they both agreed the UPS driver would take the dog in until a permanent solution was found. During Leo’s stay in his new temporary home, he developed a strong relationship with Katie’s dogs.
His foster family saw how happy he was, and they all agreed that Leo would be better off living with them. Katie talked to Canon again, and they decided the foster mom would permanently take the dog in. Although the pit bull missed his mom, he now has a new home and more reasons to smile again.
