Several kids saw a senior chihuahua living in a garage near their home. They saw that he was exhausted so they decided to give him some food and water.
They felt bad for the tiny dog as he was so scrawny and dirty. His nails were so long that some of them have curved and dug into his own flesh.
It was very evident that he needed help so they called a local non-profit rescue organization. The kids decided to stay with the pooch until the rescuer arrived.
Scared
Fresh from saving another dog earlier in the day, the rescuer arrived soon after and he was greeted by the young teenagers that called him. They walked inside the garage and at the end, near the front wheel of a car, was a small chihuahua. He was resting near a bowl of water then looked up when he saw a man coming towards him.
The dog didn’t move at first. But when the man extended his hand to pet his head, the pup suddenly bolted. He ran under the car, scared of the guy, not knowing that he was there to help him. Despite being tired, he had enough energy left to create some distance.
Thankfully, the kids were still there and they helped catch the dog. One of the older girls went to the nearest side and called out to the poor pup.
She was the one who gave him food and water so he trusted her. The pooch went near the young woman and sat beside her. She then started rubbing her head trying to calm him down.
Seeing that the dog was trusting the woman, the rescuer gave her a leash which she then placed on the pup’s neck. Finally, she was able to hold the senior dog and give him to the man.
Stimpy
As the chihuahua realized that he was not in danger, he finally relaxed. He was then brought to a medical facility where he was given a bath and checked by a doctor. Because his nails have caused some damage to his paws, they need to do minor surgery. They allowed him to get some rest for the night and did the operation the next day.
After he fully recuperated, the small dog, now named Stimpy, was given to a foster home. He will stay there until they find him a new family. Hopefully, it won’t take long.
