Sometimes real-life friendships are far better than fiction. The domestic dog named Tinni and the wild fox named Sniffer met by chance one day in the woods of Norway and their very unlikely friendship blossomed.
Tinni lives in Norway together with human, Torgeir Berge, a photographer who captures every heartwarming moment between the two as they frolick and roll in the secluded woods. It is clear that Tinni and Sniffer do not know they are not the same – but the two romp and play just like they have been good friends their whole lives.
As someone who has seen Tinni’s friendship with Sniffer, Berge became a strong advocate against the fur industry, and of fur farms where foxes are locked in tiny cages and are killed for their beautiful pelts.
Berge wrote in a Facebok post that foxes are just like dogs in their behavior and personality. It brings tears to his eyes in pure pain, when he thinks about the millions of Sniffers locked inside cages all their lives.
He said that it is absolutely heartbreaking to place any animal by the way of such cruel fate, more so foxes who really are not far from the domesticated dogs that we have come to love for thousands of years.
Fortunately for Sniffer and Tinni, the two of them have a good amount of room to discover together, running through the woods close to Berge’s home in all seasons.
They do not even seem to mind that they have a human trotting along behind them wherever they go. These two friends only have eyes for each other. Their touching relationship proves that real friendship can survive despite background and social pressure, or natural instincts.
