When a kid has money, he would almost always spend it on toys or food. It is a knee-jerk reaction for most kids since they want to enjoy their childhood. But this 11-year-old boy named Nick is different from the rest. Instead of spending his hard-earned money on toys and food, Nick saves it for adopting a pooch.
Ever since he was eight-years-old, Nick has always wanted to have a dog of his own. But since his parents could not afford the adoption fee of a pooch, Nick made sure that he saves enough money for it. He even decided to sell lemonade juice to keep him more money and time.
With only a Lemonade stand and little bit of luck, the young boy ventured on a business at a very young age. He placed his small store outside of their home in Spokane, Washington, and told his neighbors about his goal. The boy does not need to pay a rental fee since the lawn that he built his stand was theirs.
Soon enough, his neighbors trooped Nick’s small business and bought some refreshments from the boy. Whenever they asked the boy what he would do with the money he gets, Nick would say for the adoption fee of a pooch. At first, his neighbor did not believe the young boy. But Nick explained it to them.
In just a short span of selling lemonade juice, Nick was able to raise a total of $1,515, enough for the adoption fee of a pooch. Thanks to the support of his local community, including his neighbors and friends.
With enough money on his hand, the boy visited a local animal shelter and inquired about the availability of a pooch. Nick then received his wish – a healthy and lively pooch. The shelter charged Nick with a $1,200 adoption fee, but the young boy gave the remaining of his savings to the shelter. Nick said he wants the money to benefit the dogs inside the sanctuary.
Nick raised $1,515 at his lemonade stand in Spokane. His mom asked me to share this: “I am so blown away by the…
