Middle school has been extra challenging for a boy named Carson. He dreads attending classes because bullies torment him regularly. The constant harassment has taken a huge toll on him, and he has developed a lot of anxiety.
The young boy’s confidence plummeted. His mental and emotional well-being has become a great concern for his parents. They knew that his school life has become unbearable, and he struggled with the decision to continue.
Despite talking to school officials, the bullying kept coming back. They even consulted with professionals, but Carson’s depression kept growing.
Zero
Carson’s mom then had an idea. She learned that animals can help a person that is having issues with depression. Studies have actually shown that pets can be very therapeutic and have been found to boost confidence and a person’s sense of security.
The concerned mother started a search for the perfect dog for his son. She went online and even visited local shelters. Eventually, she met a six-month-old pup named Zero.
The adorable puppy was involved in a car accident and suffered serious injuries. The vets had no choice but to amputate one of his legs. A nonprofit rescue organization took him in and took care of his needs. When he fully recovered, he was put up for adoption.
A new best friend
Carson’s mom saw that the pup was very resilient and he could inspire her own son. So she adopted the dog. From the moment she took Zero home, Carson fell in love with the pup.
Soon, the two formed a very strong bond. He has found a new best friend, and the little boy became much happier. According to his mom, there has been a vast improvement in his young son.
Although school is still going to be tough, they know that Carson would have his best friend around to help him.
