An animal rescue organization called Rescue From The Hart operates in the state of California. They take under their care abandoned or stray dogs wandering the streets of residential and commercial districts. The local community recognizes their work and reports to them any dogs they notice lingering in their area.
One morning, the Rescue From The Hart organization received a report from a concerned individual regarding a couple of abandoned dogs roaming the streets of East Los Angeles. Residents in the neighborhood tried to capture them, but the dogs kept their distance from any person.
The dogs don’t trust people
The organization quickly sent a team to the reported neighborhood. The team spotted the dogs after a few rounds of driving around the streets. They park their car about 50 meters away from the dogs. The team slowly approached the dogs while softly calling to them to come closer.
The team threw some biscuits to lure the dogs to come closer. Every time the dogs ate, the rescuers threw food nearer to them. But when the dogs were only about a few feet away, the female dog hesitated and barked at the rescue team.
The female dog kept barking to her companion not to go nearer to the team. Somehow, the male dog followed his companion and both dogs ran away. The rescue team had to change tactics.
Need to catch the female dog first
This time the team prepared a large cage and placed food inside it. The team’s target was to capture the female dog first. The female dog kept resisting the rescue team. If the female dog got caught first, the male dog would follow.
The first time the dogs went to the cage, the male dog went in. The team set the trap again several more times, but the female was reluctant to enter. But after some time, the female dog finally went into the cage, and the team quickly sprung the door of the trap.
As expected, the male dog did not leave his companion and went willingly with the rescue team. The animal center took both dogs in and took care of them. Now, the dogs can live and play together in a safe environment for as long as they like.
