Netizens were enraged upon seeing viral photos of a poor canine with a zip-tie around his neck. The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office knew this was one of the vilest dog maltreatment they’ve ever seen, and they would stop at nothing to find the perpetrator.
Barely surviving
Officers saw a stray dog walking around Brooksville, Florida, during their daily patrol. They saw the canine’s head swelling while the poor guy cried so loud. They tried to capture him, but the dog always ran away.
After three days of failed attempts, one of the officers successfully captured the dog and freed him from the zip tie. The canine looked so nervous, but he showed no sign of aggression.
The officers immediately brought the stray to the local vet clinic for treatment. While recovering, the dog warmed up to the humans and appeared friendlier. The animal services staff decided to name him Bugsy.
Looking for justice
Bugsy’s still suffered from the painful indention on his neck and the intense swelling on his head. He needed a lot of time before his wounds fully healed, but he showed a lot of good progress.
In the meantime, Bugsy was placed under the local animal shelter’s care. The dog was cautious yet kind to the shelter staff and looked happier when safely in his kennel. Miss Ritter, the shelter coordinator, said the dog’s healing was on track.
One of the shelter volunteers promised to take in Bugsy once he was fully healed. After all his pain, the dog finally has a shot at a loving and caring home.
There was a lot of information left to uncover, but the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office would stop at nothing to capture the culprit who committed the act. The officers urged citizens to come forward if they knew anything about Bugsy’s past.
