Jami Lassell and her colleague were house cleaners, and they set out to clear up an attic in an abandoned property in Pennsylvania. They had no idea that the incident would lead to a rescue mission to save the life of a poor abandoned Pitbull.
Trapped and alone
It’s a blessing that Lassell found the canine when she did since this poor pup might not have lived if she hadn’t. Once Lassel and her friend were done cleaning, she took the dog home with her and named him Remi.
Lassell discovered that Remi had plenty of other health issues after an initial vet appointment due to recent mistreatment and neglect. The veterinarians estimated Remi’s age to be between one to two years old.
Lassell believed that Remi’s injuries resulted from his attempts to escape. Nobody knew who did all of that to Remi, but it’s tough to imagine that someone would deliberately subject an innocent dog to such cruelty.
Journey to recovery
Remi had a difficult journey ahead of him, but Lassell did everything she could to make the transition easy. She provided Remi with a comfy dog bed to sleep in, and she scheduled his food and water to keep her tummy from growing too quickly.
Lassell plans to adopt Remi after all his medical needs are met. She couldn’t picture their lives apart because they’d created an unbreakable friendship.
Remi achieves small daily victories, such as walking down the stairs alone or sitting still for a bath. Lasell was proud to be part of the dog’s road to recovery.
Lassell set up a GoFundMe page for Remi to help with medical bills. The duo quickly exceeded their $5,000 goal, thanks to the generosity of several pet lovers. Lasell was confident that Remi would be all right in no time.
