There are dogs who have found themselves as part of the dog meat trade, which is quite prolific in Asia, despite the fact that many groups and organizations have been campaigning against this cruel trade. It is a good thing, though, that there are a number of rescue groups who do their best to rescue the dogs from this trade because the dogs do not deserve such a fate.
Many of these groups have found themselves working hard to help rescue the dogs in South Korea as well as other countries in Asia where dog meat is still being consumed. They also work with the governments of a number of countries to make sure that people are informed about the disadvantages of the dog meat trade and the farms that breed these dogs for their meat.
One of the groups helping rescue dogs is the Humane Society International. The group has many volunteers and staff who are doing their very best to save as many dogs as they can from the farms. According to the group, one of the remarkable rescues that they have done was with a dog named Walter.
Walter is a beautiful dog who had quite fluffy fur. He lived in one of the wire cages that were crammed full of dogs. In fact, he lived with 54 dogs inside the cage that was owned by a dirty farm that kept dogs for their meat.
Walter was rescued along with the other dogs there. The volunteers said that it was as if the dog and his mates knew that they were in safe hands. They were not aggressive in any way when the rescuers went near them. Some of them even gave the rescuers a lot of kisses.
Walter and the rest of the lot were checked for any medical problems they may have had and treated for them. They were also given forever homes where they were given love and care.
